Rafael Gomez

Rafael Gomez, a native of West Palm Beach and proud Dominican-American, brings passion, rhythm, and soul to every dance floor he steps on. Deeply connected to his roots, Rafael’s love for bachata runs through his veins—it’s more than a dance to him; it’s a way of life.

A graduate of Indian River State College with an associate’s degree in Dance, Rafael has performed in major musicals including La Cage Aux Folles in New Hampshire at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse and the vibrant, culture-rich In the Heights. His stage experience, combined with a natural gift for movement, has also led him to choreograph for youth, helping young dancers find their own artistic voices.

Beyond traditional dance, Rafael is a dedicated aerialist and circus arts enthusiast, specializing in aerial silks. As a member of the Wings to Fly dance company, he merges grounded technique with airborne artistry, striving to bring healing, joy, and love to the world through movement.

When he’s not in the studio or the air, you’ll likely find Rafael at the beach—his personal sanctuary. He finds peace in the ocean, joy in kayaking, and energy in a good game of beach volleyball.

At Fred Astaire Dance Studios, Rafael combines technical expertise, cultural depth, and genuine warmth, inspiring each student to connect to the music—and themselves—through the power of dance. Rafael has won awards such as Top Male Beginner Specialist and specializes in the New Student department and is ready to help you get started on your dance journey today!
