Jose’s journey into the world of dance began in the heart of Brownsville, Texas, where he was born and raised. It wasn’t until the age of 7 that Jose discovered his true passion for ballroom dancing.
At the age of 14, Jose found himself stepping into the newly constructed Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Brownsville. It was here that his love affair with ballroom dance truly blossomed. For nearly five years, Jose dedicated himself to perfecting his craft as a member of the Brownsville competitive formation dance team under the guidance of the Dancing Thru Life program.
In March 2023, an exciting opportunity beckoned as Jose joined the esteemed Fred Astaire Dance Studios, finding his place within the vibrant community of the Richmond studio. Instantly enamored by the welcoming atmosphere fostered by his manager and owner, Helena Tokarew. Jose has been an integral part of the Richmond team since June 2023.
With a collection of medals and achievements under his belt, Jose’s dedication to excellence propels him forward. Beyond the dance floor, he finds joy in city exploration, culinary adventures, sewing, and traveling the world! With enthusiasm and a welcoming spirit, Jose looks forward to sharing his passion for dance with you.
