Vanessa Pogrebnyak is a dancer and instructor who began dancing at age 12, training in jazz, modern, ballet, and ballroom. She started her career as a ballet teacher and spent over 15 years performing on cruise ships across Asia, where she developed and learned many different dance styles. During her years at sea she also judged competitions and advanced into leadership roles as a Production Manager and Cruise Director. Vanessa has been part of Fred Astaire Dance Studios Virginia Beach since 2022 and is delighted to be part of the FADS Virginia Beach family, sharing her international experience and skills with her students. Her achievements with FADS include Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum awards for Top Teacher in the region over the course of her time in Virginia Beach, and she was recently named one of the Top Female Teachers at one of the region’s largest competitions, the “Freddy Ball.” In competitions throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and across the USA, her accomplishments include top placements in the finals in both Closed and Open American Rhythm divisions as well as Rising Star Open Professional American Smooth.
