Our Fred Astaire Kids dance series is aimed at introducing kids to the world of dance. Our ballroom inspired class is recommended for kids between the ages of 5 and 7. These classes will use cover an introduction to a variety of dance elements taken from a variety of popular Ballroom and Latin dances, such as the Waltz, Swing, Bachata, and Foxtrot!
In addition to these skills, students will learn a short, choreographed routine that incorporates the material they are learning during their class. They will perform their dance routine at the end of their last class (week 8) for any friends or family members who would like to come watch!
Partners are not necessary for this class. We will not be teaching traditional Leading & Following for this age group. This class is focused on showing students how fun and easy ballroom dancing can be, while building their confidence, and developing basic dance skills such as balance, control, rhythm, and expression. Our classes are great for both boys and girls.
