You may already know the value of dance to your overall health and well-being. Olympic athletes often dance as part of their training to sharpen their control, agility, and speed, proving that dancing is great exercise. Some dances require quite a bit of energy and stamina, and we have a new way of helping you shape up for the rigors of the dance floor.
The Ballroom Fitness Class is a great way to strengthen the various muscle groups used in ballroom dance, as well as to encourage good muscle memory through repetition. It’s also a wonderful cardio workout, so you can expect to sweat in these choreographed ballroom dance workout sessions.
To celebrate February Fitness Month, we’ve added the Ballroom Fitness Class to our schedule each Monday and Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. and we encourage you to give this a try as an add-on to your regular fitness routine and your other dance classes and practice party sessions. Students are encouraged to wear workout clothing and are welcome to wear sneakers/gym shoes or dance shoes.
