Fred Astaire Covid Safety Precautions in Greenwood

If you are a current student or future dancer at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, rest assured that your health and safety is our number one priority. We have carefully adhered to the guidelines set forth by local regulations and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our COVID-19 Safety Precautions

Here’s how we help keep our dancers, teachers, and staff safe:

  • We clean the studio thoroughly and often. This includes spraying a surface disinfectant called Cavicide on all hard surfaces daily, including chairs, counters and tabletops, doorknobs, faucets, and toilet handles.
  • We require face coverings for everyone who enters the studio.
  • We encourage dancers, teachers, and staff to wash their hands frequently.
  • We have hand sanitizer available for anyone who wants to use it.

Furthering Your Safety with the Aerus Pure & Clean

To further ensure everyone feels safe when coming to the studio, we have added an air scrubber to our Greenwood location. The Aerus Pure & Clean relies on ActivePure® technology, the only one of its kind scientifically proven to reduce the coronavirus on surfaces and in the air. This single device purifies, sanitizes, and filters the air using RF ion generation, a UV lamp, and HEPA and activated carbon filters.

By installing the Aerus Pure & Clean, we are tapping into the most powerful surface and air cleaning technology ever discovered! It even qualifies as NASA-certified cleanroom technology. Here’s what this air scrubber can do:

  • Kill viruses, bacteria, mold, germs, and allergens without chemicals or ozone production
  • Reduce airborne and surface levels of the coronavirus
  • Reduce airborne volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

Friendly Reminder

To help ensure everyone’s health and safety, we would like to remind you to please stay home if you have a fever, cough, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, or any other cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms. Simply give us a call to let your teacher know you won’t be in attendance that day.

FAQs About Dance Lessons During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Is returning to the dance studio worth the risk?

You may hesitate to return to the studio in these uncertain times, especially if you have a preexisting condition or live with a high-risk individual. That’s why we’ll never pressure you to take in-person dance lessons! Weigh your personal risks, and come back when you’re ready. We hope that by enacting extensive safety precautions, you will feel confident returning to in-person dance lessons soon.

What can I do as a dancer to make the studio safer?

We ask everyone entering the studio to please wear a mask. You may want to bring a spare in case your first face covering becomes damp from sweat or heavy breathing. Then, please follow social distancing guidelines and avoid mingling with other dancers before and after class. These measures reduce the spread of the coronavirus from individuals who may be asymptomatic. Finally, we ask that you wash your hands or use our available hand sanitizer regularly.

Are online lessons still available?

Yes! Until you feel comfortable with in-studio learning, feel free to continue dancing at home. We are planning to continue offering top-notch online dance lessons for the foreseeable future. To meet our dancers’ needs, we have made classes available as live-streamed events and on-demand videos. Rest assured that you’ll benefit from our high standard of excellence when you use our Fred Astaire Dance Studios Online Lessons platform.
