Yeehaw, it’s competition time! And It’s not too late to join us as several of our students and instructors hit the competition dance floor! Our students will be representing their Chicagoland studio at this year’s Regional DanceSport Challenge! The event will be held at the prestigious Westin Northshore Hotel in Wheeling, IL on September 16th and 17th.
DanceSport Challenge has grown with every passing year and is surely one of the premier showcases for our Illinois Fred Astaire Dance Studios. The two-day event will accommodate both students and professionals. The first session begins at 9 a.m. on Friday and dinner is from 5-6:30 p.m. followed by session two. Saturday’s sessions begin at 8:30 a.m., with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. And we have something special in store for dinner; a full country style meal complete with corn on the cob and ribs! To top of the night we will also have a Square Dance Caller so everyone will be “swinging their partner round and round”!

Competitions enable our students to fully gauge the progress they’ve made with their instructors and to dance successfully before qualified adjudicators. There’s the satisfaction of success in measuring one’s development through dedication to dance and to hard work!
