Artur Sveshnikov – Studio Owner/Instructor

Artur began his dance career at the age of 7 in Odessa, Ukraine. At the age of 9 Artur started competing and became a Champion of Ukraine at the age of 12. Through out his career he was finalist and prize winner at numerous National and International Competitions.

In 2008 he graduated form Kiev National University of Culture and Arts with major in Ballroom dance. Artur is certified in International Latin, International Ballroom, American Style Smooth and Rhythm dances.

In 2008 Artur moved to United States and became a part of Fred Astaire Dance Studios. He became “Rookie of theYear” his first year in the country and since then been awarded many Top Teacher and Top Specialist Awards. In 2014 he became a co-owner at Fred Astaire Dance Studio – New York Midtown. After 3 years of being a co-owner of Fred Astaire Midtown, Artur together with his wife Svitlana decided to open his own Studio in Downtown New York.

On September 1st, 2017 Fred Astaire Dance Studio Downtown New York became officially opened, and now welcomes Students all ages, all levels and all aspirations! Artur knows the Studio will become the second home for all it’s Students, as well as allow everyone to rich their potential in a warm and supportive atmosphere. 

 

Svitlana Gliebova – Studio Owner/ Instructor

Svitlana Gliebova was born in Lviv, Ukraine. She studied Public Relations in Kiev National University of Culture and Arts where she met her future husband Artur Sveshnikov. At the time she was also pursuing her modeling career, participating in “Ukrainian Fashion Week”and many other shows, shoots and presentations. After Artur got invited to teach ballroom dancing at one of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios in United States, Svitlana decided to move to US and continue with modeling. She used to be a part of “Wilhelmina” Models in New York, and traveled all over Asia  doing numerous shows and magazine shoots.

After Artur became a co-owner of Fred Astaire Dance Studio – New York Midtown Svitlana began training to become a certified Ballroom Dance Instructor.  She fell in love with the Fred Astaire Company, as she saw how Students became more happy, confident, and graceful after each lesson. The ability to bring music, dance and joy to people every day is what inspires her to continue learning and make sure she becomes the best teacher she can be for her Students!

Together with her husband Artur they always dreamt of having their own Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Downtown New York. And after a few years their dream came true!

On September 1st, 2017 Fred Astaire Dance Studio Downtown New York became officially opened, and now welcomes Students of all ages, all levels and all aspirations! Artur and Svitlana know the Studio will become the second home for all their Students, as well as allow everyone to rich their full potential in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

 

Mykhailo Azarov – Studio Owner/ Instructor

Mykhailo Azarov is originally from Ukraine. He started training in Ballroom and Latin at the age of 8 and started competing at the age of 13. Mykhailo graduated from Kiev National University of Culture and Arts with a Masters Degree in Choreography and Ballroom/Latin Dancing.

After he began competing with Tetyana Makarenko, together they became World Duel de Cabaret Champions;
3 times Fred Astaire World Champions (in 2015,2016,2017) in Las Vegas, Nevada;
Undefeated Fred Astaire Theater Art/Cabaret champions (7 times un till now)
USA Representatives on Blackpool Dance Festival 2016 ;
9 – Dance USDC Finalists (SMOOTH and RHYTHM devision) in 2016;
Fred Astaire Smooth and Rhythm Rising Strars Finalists 2016 and 2017.

Mykhailo Azarov together with Tetyana Makarenko started their Fred Astaire career at Fred Astaire Destin, Fl and Fred Astaire Fort Walton Beach, FL. They became Top Instructors and Top Competitors in the area, and after three years decided they are ready for a new journey. Together with their friends Artur and Svitlana they are now the proud owners of the Fred Astaire Downtown New York. 

 

Tetyana Makarenko

Tetyana Makarenko – Studio Owner/ Instructor

Tetyana Makarenko is originally from Ukraine. She started dancing at a young age, training mostly in Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary Styles. She fell in love with Cabaret along the way, and by the age of 18 Tetyana became Ukrainian Cabaret Champion!

After she began competing with Mykhailo Azarov, together they became World Duel de Cabaret Champions;
3 times Fred Astaire World Champions (in 2015,2016,2017) in Las Vegas, Nevada;
Undefeated Fred Astaire Theater Art/Cabaret champions (7 times un till now)
USA Representatives on Blackpool Dance Festival 2016 ;
9 – Dance USDC Finalists (SMOOTH and RHYTHM devision) in 2016;
Fred Astaire Smooth and Rhythm Rising Strars Finalists 2016 and 2017.

Tetyana together with Mykhailo started their Fred Astaire career at Fred Astaire Destin, Fl and Fred Astaire Fort Walton Beach, FL. Kateryna Ksonz – Manager/Dance Director

Katya, short for Kateryna Ksonz, joined the Fred Astaire Downtown as a Manager and Dance Director in 2018. Katya was born in Ukraine and started dancing when she was six years old. She started to compete at the age of ten, and won numerous Ukrainian, Moldavian and Russian National Championships.

In 2014, Katya started her career as a dance teacher in Fred Astaire Midtown Dance Studio in New York City. Soon after, Katya was quickly recognized as a top-notch dance instructor and received the prestigious Top Female Instructor of the whole New York and New Jersey region in 2015-2017. Her Students have won first places in many Fred Astaire Regional, National and World Competitions.

Goran Subotic – Dance Instructor

Goran was born in Kutina, Croatia, and he began taking Ballroom and Latin dance lessons at a very early age. Goran started competing when he was 14 years old, and he showed a clear preference toward International Latin Dances. From this point forward, Goran performed all around the Europe and won many National and International Dance Championships. In 2007, he was a Member of Croatian National Dance Team and he represented his country at the World Championship in Latin Dances with his partner Petra Jericevic.
Goran focused on his career in Education shortly after, when he moved to Paris, France. He got his education at ENS Paris, Sorbonne and Université d’Orléans where he pursued his academic career as a teacher, and he obtained a PhD in French Literature.
Goran joined Fred Astaire Downtown Studio in 2018 where he works as a Dance Instructor.
