BRIAN OCANA – PROFESSIONAL DANCE INSTRUCTOR

Brian started ballroom dancing at the age of 12, he learned both the latin discipline and standard discipline at the same time and competed in both fields during his early dancing career. He became the Philippines National 10 dance Champion at 17 years of age. He learned his latin from world class teachers such as Andrei Skufca and Katarina Venturini (World and Blackpool Champion), Peta Robin (World Champion), Paul Harris and Michael Baker.

He focused on the Standard discipline where he and his sister Karla really made a mark in his homeland the Philippines, becoming the National champion at the age of 19. They won in various competitions around world, and became Asian and Open to the world Ballroom champions. He was coached by many known ballroom greats such as Mathew Rooke, Glen Tierney, Craig Draper, Tony and Amanda Dokman.

With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Brian has already produced many great dancers and champions and has also competed in Pro-am events and had proven to also hold his own on the big stage of Blackpool and the Dutch Open, winning in all Pro-am events he and his students would join.
