Derek is a multitalented artist that has been working on dancing his way through life! He found his love for the arts back when he was consistently surrounded by music and dancing when he was a child. Whether it was playing Just Dance with his family or performing at his dance recitals or theatrical shows for many years! He knew it was a great way to express his emotions! He loved it so much that he grew a passion for it and graduated with a degree back in 2024. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance and Musical Theatre! During his college times, he was in multiple productions and was awarded with a few scholarships while he was there!
After graduating, by day, he was a teacher for school devised theater programs! Teaching kids the wonderful magic of dance and theater. By night, he was either performing in dance/ theater events or you can catch him directing/ choreographing for a Youth Children Theater! Now he’s transitioning into a new path as an Instructor at Fred Astaire Riverside! He is excited to join the lovely Ballroom community and to train with the professionals! He’s very eager to keep dancing and is no stranger to the stage lights!
