What should we wear? We recommend flat shoes for both partners to start. While your shoes must have some grip, rubber soles may have too much resistance, making turning and sliding difficult. The main goal, especially for your first session, is to move about with ease. However, once you learn the choreography, we recommend you switch to your wedding shoes or a similar style, so you’re comfortable dancing in them. The bride may also consider purchasing a tulle skirt to practice in during the last few sessions, especially if her wedding dress is voluminous.

How soon should I schedule my free wedding dance consultation? If you’re just wanting to learn a few steps before the Big Day so you feel relaxed on the dance floor, scheduling your wedding dance appointment 6-8 weeks in advance will give us enough time to teach you the steps you need to feel like a natural! If you’re planning on a more involved routine, or including your wedding party, a few months in advance is recommended.
