Sergei is the man!!!!!! We absolutely LOVED working with Sergei every week. It was so sad when our time was over and we... didn't get to spend our weekly visits with him! I surprised my husband by getting a Groupon for Fred Astaire. I had been reading all of the brides saying how choreographing their first dance was one of the best decisions they made. I figured we could try out a lesson with the Groupon and decide if we wanted to fully commit or not. If worse came to worse, I figured we had fun taking a couple of lessons. Of course we loved our first appointment with Sergei and immediately booked our weekly sessions with him! We procrastinated a bit so we started about two months out from our wedding. When I called she kindly told me that we better get moving if we wanted to be ready for our wedding day. lol.We were looking to merge two songs together into one dance. We gave Sergei the time stamps of the songs and he arranged a beautiful dance for us with the perfect blend of both songs. We worked hard week after week and felt like contestants on dancing with the stars. Once Sergei suggested we video ourselves and watch it in between visits, it made a huge difference! It was very difficult remembering if we were doing the steps correctly just from our memory. We continued to add on new sections week after week until we finally put everything together.The week leading up to our wedding we did a practice run in front of everyone at the studio that night. It was very stressful with everyone watching us but fun. The whole idea is to get you used to people watching you perform the dance. I really wanted Sergei to be there on our wedding night like you would see your childhood dance instructor on the side of the stage at your dance recital. lol. He was there in spirit!My husband had a heart attack when he saw how ginormous my wedding gown was. He said, "how are we going to do this with this dress?!?!?!" I told him that I showed Sergei from the beginning and that we should be able to make it happen! lol I think we did Sergei proud! If it wasn't for COVID, we could have gone to show him our video by now!We highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studio. They are all extremely professional and hard-working. They work with you to pay for your lessons as you go versus one lump sum when you sign your contract. They put the music together for you and create a dance perfect for you and your dance partner. Sergei was kind, patient and professional as he worked with us to be the best dancers we could be. He is absolutely the best! Thank you so much, Sergei!read more

Sergei was the best!!! And everyone here is so nice and supportive, not just the staff but the other students. We... decided to take dance lessons for our upcoming wedding because we didn't want our first dance to be us just standing on the dance floor swaying side to side. And we couldn't have been more pleased. My now husband wasn't the most graceful person on the dance floor before this but Sergei did an excellent job in teaching us to dance.read more

My father & I wanted to do a fun dance for our father/daughter dance at my wedding. As neither of us are professional... dancers - we knew we would need ALOT of help, patience, practice, and choreography help! We wanted to start with a more traditional dance to frank sinatra and then break out into a disco upbeat dance in the middle. Fred Astaire Dance studio completely blew away our expectations. They created a custom choreographed dance for us, edited the music we could give to our DJ, and helped us every "step" of the way 🙂 We had a lesson once a week for 3 months until the wedding. The end result completely exceeded our expectation and all of our guests were so surprised and delighted. Everyone at Fred Astaire completely went above and beyond what we would have expected by making us ALWAYS feel welcomed (when it can be intimidating to be around such talented dancers). They always welcomed us to the dance floor for practice time and to their monthly parties in the studio where everyone can dance together. Both my father and I are hoping to continue with lessons in the future at this studio because it's an amazing environment. My wife and I have really enjoyed our dance lessons here for the past few weeks. Dimitri and the rest of the staff have... been wonderful and very patient. I can't tell you how many times we have had to reschedule due to scheduling conflicts. We have learned the Waltz, foxtrot, tango, box step. I am really enjoying it. My wife's toes are very sore. My wife and I are in our 60's and have never "danced". All of the instructors here are very good, patient and... encouraging. We will never be Fred & Ginger but we are enjoying the ride and can actually move around a dance floor without the wheels coming off. Great place to start and from what we've seen a great place to take dancing as far as you want to take it.read more

I walked in to this studio in a random evening last October following a friend’s recommendation. There standing, were... two handsome young man and one elegant young lady later. later, I know their names, Dmitry, Daria and Alex. They were kind of quite that time,but nice enough for me to make an appointment right a way to try out the following day. After that introductory class, became a loyal student and have seen them twice a week at minimum since then.
Year later today, After my first show case this Feb., I also made though my first competition this past weekend, completing with the first or second places in four divisions I competed in for nine different dances. Although, it was a small regional competition event in Fred Alastair system, there were still so many good and talent dancers. I am so happy to know what I have achieved within a year and no doubt, I also know that all these would not happen without coming to Fred Astaire West Chester dance studio that evening. This is the best place in the area to learn dance and realize your dream; not only for its spacious studio, but more for the best instructors who are professional with talent and personal with tremendous caring.
Come and join the studio, you will not just find fun of dance, there is more beyond dance self....!read more
