Luis Alves – Dance Instructor & Professional Dancer

Luis Alves was discovered as a young talent at the age of eight by a professional dance academy, where he was immediately accepted into their pre-education program. His early recognition set the foundation for a distinguished dance career. Luis continued his training at Codarts University of the Arts in Rotterdam, and after receiving scholarships, expanded his studies internationally in New York City at The Ailey School (Alvin Ailey), Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway. He later trained in Los Angeles at EDGE Performing Arts Center and Millennium Dance Complex.

 

Luis built a successful professional career performing on major television productions including The Voice of Holland, So You Wanna Be a Popstar, Dancing Queen, and So You Think You Can Dance. He toured internationally with top European artists, among them world-renowned DJ and producer Armin van Buuren.

 

As an educator, Luis has taught throughout Europe and served as a professional dance instructor at several leading institutions, including Codarts, Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, and Fontys School of the Arts.
