Sean has been around ballroom dance studios since before he could walk. His parents owned a Fred Astaire Dance Studio growing up and the majority of his family is involved in ballroom dancing. As an amateur competitor, Sean has danced in both Open-Gold Level International Ballroom and more recently Open-Gold Level American Smooth. He has danced in competitions spanning from New York to California and everywhere in between. In addition to these styles, he also teaches Latin, Rhythm, and Nightclub-Style Dances (Hustle, West Coast Swing, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, etc…).

In addition to the fantastic training program of Fred Astaire Dance Studios, Sean has taken coachings from a wide variety of top professionals in the industry. He began his dance training from his parents Roger and Maureen Nepveu. He is also regularly coached at the world famous “Roger’s Dance Center” in Fairfield, New Jersey under the direction of Diana and Gary McDonald.

Outside of Ballroom Dancing, Sean holds a PhD in History, specializing in United States History. He teaches history at both Monmouth University and Kean University. Sean enjoys spending his free time on the water fishing, exploring the outdoors, watching sports (Football, Hockey, Mixed Martial Arts), and at his family’s cabin in the mountains.

For Sean, Ballroom Dancing is a lifestyle choice and he is honored to stand by a group of students and professionals who match that energy.
