Emily Cortez is from Southern New Jersey and received a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with a minor in Dance from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. She moved to Rhode Island to study Organizational Behavior and Fitness and Wellness at The University of Rhode Island. Emily started dancing Ballroom, Hip-hop, and Jazz at a young age. She was a part of Rowan University’s Dance Team and Modern Dance Extensions Company. She holds certifications in Zumba®, Bodypump Les Mills, Yogafit Level 1, AFAA (American Fitness Association of America) Group Fitness, and is CPR/First Aid/AED Certified. She was also Miss Rhode Island’s Sweetheart (first runner up) 2015 through the Miss America Organization! Teaching ballroom dance allows her to promote her passion, expression through the arts, health and wellness. She joined Team Warwick in 2016, and quickly became of of the Top Teachers in New England and the Country! Moving up through the career path, she is now a proud co-owner of the Warwick Studio!
