If you thought taking dance lessons would only lead you to a dance studio, think again. Dance lessons is a segue to having more fun in your life, a way to meet new people and experience a more enriching social life.
On Saturday, January 14, Fred Astaire New Jersey held it’s regional Team Match at the beautiful Parsipanny Hilton. Highlights included a full day of action-packed competition, with students and staff celebrating the theme ARMY-AIR FORCE (Upper Montclair, Montville, and Morristown) VS. NAVY-MARINES (Red Bank, Manasquan, Princeton). We are happy to say we defeated Team South (Navy-Marines) for the coveted TEAM MATCH TROPHY.
Mid-day we participated in the highly anticipated Professional Jack-and-Jill, where all the pros get mixed up and have to compete with professionals from other schools, randomly chosen. We are happy to announce our very own KAITLIN NARLIS the winner with her temporary pro partner Ilya from Princeton! Congratulations.
Kaitlin was also awarded the 2016 Top Guest Getter. Way to hustle Kait!
Longtime student, 5-Time World Champion in Standard and Smooth and multiple US Titled Charlotte Carey was honored with a Farewell Award. Charlotte will be moving to Washington to live closer to her family. We will miss you Charlotte. You’ve been a loyal champion and an honor to call our friend for so many years. We are so proud of your achievements and success in dance.
Enjoy some highlights from this year’s Team Match and congratulations to all! More photos can be found if you like us on facebook! (Thanks to our resident photographer Frank Starrett.)
