Kaitlin began dancing at the age of 3. After studying at Somerset County’s Gifted and Talented Program in Bridgewater, NJ, Kaitlin always aspired to be a professional dancer. She went on to study dance at CW Post Campus of Long Island University for 2 years, before transferring to Montclair State University to receive her BFA in Dance Performance. During her college experience Kaitlin was able to participate in Mark Morris Intensive, David Parson Intensive, LA Contemporary Dance Summer Intensive, and Amy Marshall Winter Workshop. She also had the privilege of dancing in workshops with Alvin Ailey, Pilobolus, Momix, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, New York Baroque Dance Company, Keigwen and Co, Bad Boys of Dance, and Jennifer Muller
Kaitlin started working part time for Fred Astaire Dance Studios in March 2013 as a part time receptionist and trainee dance instructor she immediately fell in love with ballroom dancing. She started competing and won the Top New Teacher at Fred Astaire Dance Studios’ Cross Country Championships in 2015. Kaitlin then made the jump to American Smooth style competing with Tim who would become her future husband and co owner. Together they made numerous rising star and open finals all across America. Kaitlin also loves to compete and perform shows with her students too, in the studio and at regional and national events loving seeing the development and progression shown while doing these events.
In 2020 Tim and Kaitlin took ownership of the studio. Having worked her way from part time receptionist to teacher and finally owner she is intimately familiar with all aspects of the studio. She is so excited about this next step in her Fred Astaire Dance Studios Journey and truly describes it as her dream come true.
