Tim started dancing back home in his native England at the age of 7 after a challenge from his ballroom dancing older sister, he went on to do his first competition 6 months later and has been hooked ever since. Tim’s competitive career developed rapidly winning numerous titles in the International Dance Teachers Association, United Kingdom Alliance of Dance and the Kindred Arts, National Supadance League, as well as going on to represent his country at a number of highly prestigious International Competitions. Tim also danced for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, at the Royal Variety Performance sharing the billing with stars such as Bette Midler, Lady Gaga and Micheal Buble.
Tim moved to the US in 2010 accepting a job offer with Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Upper Montclair and immediately fell in love with the American Styles of Smooth and Rhythm. He began to compete in the American Smooth style eventually dancing with Kaitlin who would become his future wife and co owner of the studio. Together they made numerous rising star and open finals all across America. He also loves to compete with his students competing at Local, Regional, National and even International competitions with great success counting among his students many regional and national champions together with a British Open (Blackpool) pro-am finalist.
In 2020 Tim and Kaitlin took ownership of the studio. Having worked up from teacher to manager and finally owner Tim is so excited about this next step in his Fred Astaire Dance Journey and can’t wait to share his love of dancing and all it has to offer here at Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Upper Montclair.
