What I Love Most About Teaching is seeing the spark in someone’s eyes when a new concept “clicks.”

Who I Admire Most and Why: Martha Graham. She modernized ballet and never shied away from including the dark side of a story in her productions.

One Thing Most People Do Not Know About Me: I love camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors.

Biography:

Caroline began dancing at three years old. As a child, she explored the styles of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Modern. Square and line dancing were also requirements, as I am from Texas. Her first foray into partnership dance was dancing the Jitterbug on her dad’s feet. They stole the show at the annual Girl Scout Sock Hop!

Caroline took a hiatus from dance in high school to focus on music and participate in marching band. She started college, studying Bilingual Interdisciplinary Studies, but accidentally fell back in love with dance after joining the Salsa club at her school. She joined a dance troupe in the small town of San Marcos, TX, performing in local events and parades.

As a young adult, Caroline became more interested in partnership dances, learning several Country/Western styles, including Two-Step, Polka, and Swing, and Latin club styles, such as Bachata, Salsa, and Cumbia.

Then the mountains called, and Caroline followed her heart to the beautiful state of Colorado. After spending a year working odd jobs and exploring the wilderness, she decided to settle down and found a home at Fred Astaire. When COVID hit, she decided to explore other career options, but she couldn’t stand to be away from the dance studio and returned to FADS in the summer of 2024.

Besides dance, Caroline enjoys arts and crafts, the outdoors, propagating house plants, and exploring the world through her son’s eyes.
