Boris and Sasha Spitchka are owners of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios-Albany, NY.
Sasha began dance at seven, first studying ballet and folk dancing. Boris fell in love with ballroom dancing at sixteen. They were competing as amateurs in the Standard and Latin divisions. and later started to teach Ballroom and Latin dancing, as well as being a dance coaches, performers, and competitions organizers. Both originally from Ukraine, they began their career in the USA with Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Mount Kisco NY. During that time, they also were competed as professionals in American Smooth. In 1998 they opened the FADS Albany location.They have achieved the highest certification level of a Dual Fellowship in International Standard and Latin from the United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (USISTD), and a Triple Fellowship in American Smooth, American Rhythm, and Theatre Arts from Fred Astaire Dance Studios®.In 2019 they became Members of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios International Dance Council.Also, Boris and Sasha together with Tony Dovolani are Regional Directors for the Fred Astaire Dance Studios Massachusetts Region.
