Kemar Bennett and David Robinson – Owners/Instructors

Kemar Bennett: Originally from Barbados where he began dancing at the age of twelve.  He is an experienced choreographer and director, and enjoys working with students in many forms of dance including Ballroom, Latin, Hip Hop, Modern and Contemporary.  Kemar is the 2016 Eastern U.S. Professional Show Dance Champion and 2016 Pro-Am Adult Standard World Champion. He’s also the title holder of the 2008 Barbados Youth National Latin & Ballroom Champion, 2009-2010 Barbados Strictly Latin Champion and a Multi-time amateur New-England Collegiate Champion. In 2010, Kemar was a member of the team that choreographed and danced at the Official Tribute to the late Michael Jackson and performed at the Barbados Music Awards under the patronage of Joseph Jackson (Michael’s father). Kemar has been a certified professional instructor for over 5 years and is an active professional competitor on the American Rhythm circuit. Kemar looks forward to bringing his passion for dance, love for sharing his knowledge and strong faith in community to creating a fun and energy filled home away from away home to the town of Belmont. “Dancing with the feet is one thing, dancing with the heart is another”

David Robinson: Prior to becoming a Fred Astaire Franchisee, David’s love for
education and teaching started as a 5th grade math and science teacher in Cleveland, Ohio with Teach for America. After a few years in Cleveland, David taught 6th and 4th grade math and science at Brooke Charter Schools and Boston Public Schools. David currently works as a Director of Curriculum and Instruction with Breakthrough Greater Boston. In this role, David oversees all aspects of teaching and learning for their middle school students over the summer and throughout the school year. David works closely with Teaching Fellows and Instructional Coaches to ensure that students receive high-quality curriculum and classroom instruction. David is excited to bring his project planning, managerial, and supervision skills to this awesome FAB family. “Let’s get FABulous!”
