Sergei Shapoval
April 4, 2018
Sergei Shapoval began dancing at the age of 8 in the Ukraine and represented his country at the 1993 International Festival of Culture in France, where Ukraine took first place. Sergei has appeared on Ukrainian regional & national TV, and formerly competed as an amateur dancer in International Latin and Standard in Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Poland& Russia. In 2001 Sergei was invited to teach in the US and that same year he received a full Scholarship as one of the original members of the Olympic Hopefuls Dance Program.
With 27 years of dance experience — 20 of those as a dance teacher as well as a competitor — Sergei believes that learning to dance provides valuable benefits in many areas of life.

Jim Carter

JimCarter Jim Carter is a member of the National Dance Council and the owner of a Fred Astaire Dance Studio. He is a highly accomplished dancer in the Theater Arts and Cabaret division. As well as being a choreographer for Smooth and Rhythm Exhibitions, he is also the mastermind behind many of the country’s best Solos, Novelties, and Showcases.

 

 

Jack Davy

Jack is a regional dance director for Fred Astaire, a coach and national examiner. Jack can be seen all year judging Fred Astaire National competitions and was a highly-decorated Smooth dancer.  Some of Jack’s accomplishments include: Regional Dance Director for the Illinois region and co-author of Fred Astaire Advanced Bronze and Silver Curriculum, Former U.S. American Smooth Finalist, Former North Eastern U.S. American Smooth Champion, 6 Time Fred Astaire South Eastern Modern Champion.

You will find everything from Private Lessons and Group Classes, to Social Dance Parties and Events at our Mokena dance studio. Couples and single students are always welcome!
