My husband and I first came to a class using a gift certificate from a friend, and we’ve now been here a year and a half — what an incredible experience it’s been.
In the beginning, I felt awkward, self‑conscious, and totally out of my element, but the instructors were endlessly positive and encouraging. With that kind of support, it’s impossible not to look forward to coming back week after week.
I’ve grown so much individually, and my husband and I have grown together too — we dance, we laugh at our mistakes, and we keep getting better. The instructors are very experienced in knowing how to tailor lessons to accommodate each student's learning style. Perfect for my creative mind and my husband's engineer brain!
This studio is overflowing with encouragement, skill, smiles, and truly top‑notch instruction. It’s been such a gift to be part of it.

My husband and I first enrolled at the Fred Astaire - Cypress studio in January 2024.
I had no dance or related activity experience (i.e. drill team, cheerleading, band, gymnastics, etc.). Learning something as interesting and challenging as ballroom dancing is not easy at 68 years old. However, the last fourteen months have been a wonderful experience for me.
The studio atmosphere is inclusive and welcoming to everyone that steps through the studio doors. Additionally, the professional dance instructors are superb!
As a student, I can unequivocally state that each instructor is experienced and knowledgeable. I believe each of them can teach anyone to dance. Plus, they make it so much fun to learn.

It’s been two incredible years since I embarked on my dance journey, and what a ride it has been! Not only am I dancing socially, but I’m also preparing for something extraordinary in 2026. This year, I’ll be traveling to Las Vegas for my first national dance competition. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my dance family, especially my instructors, Barnabas and Magui.
It has been a great experience here with ferg and hector! They help with my physical needs and getting more motion in body!! My posture is improving so much!! My hips are like a belly dancer now ! God bless both of them and I'm super excited for the future while i take my first steps into my bronze level. Im a senior, and i recommend anybody to come and dance. The environment is super friendly and welcoming, i feel my body mind and heart is like a feather after i do a session!! I cant recommend enough!♥️
Love the atmosphere, you are definitely in good hands with the teachers here. Not only will you learn so much (you get to choose the dance you would like to learn) but they are so personal, they have such a great community here. Highly recommend Magui and Eli, such great dancers and teachers! Glad that I’m part of this community 🎶🕺💃
First, Elena (Studio Manager) has done an amazing job assembling a team of world class dance instructors who pour everything they have into making each dance lesson an enjoyable experience. It starts with the instructors taking time getting to know each student individually and then adjusting their teaching methods to allow steady and continuous dance skill progression.
On top of that, the studio culture is very welcoming to new students and social interaction in general between students is encouraged and facilitated through twice a month 90 min dance parties and other social events including outside studio outings. If you’ve never danced before, but always wanted to, or if it’s been a while, I highly recommend checking out the Cypress studio! It’s 5 Stars and the best studio in Texas!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I have so many great things to say about this studio and the people who are a part of it that this Google review would take days to read. So I will do my best to keep it to 10 paragraphs 😝.
Tim and Hector are my instructors, and they have been nothing less than pro perfection! Tailoring my lessons to match the goals I want to achieve in dance while keeping it fun at the same time. They don’t just teach you steps; they take the time to educate you on the “why” and “how,” ensuring you have a strong foundation to help you be your very best at whatever goal you're reaching for.
Then there’s the rest of the Fred Astaire Cypress team: Elena, the studio manager; Ellie, Magui, Edina, and Barnabas, who are equally as amazing as their counterparts. All of them bring an unbelievable amount of skill and quality of dancing to every student. I guess that’s why they are the pros!
With that said, it can be so easy to lose that quality, momentum, or high energy with the amount of students they work with one-on-one, the group classes, the long hours to ensure every student receives the same level of time and training, plus their own training they do after hours. The dedication is unmatched. Every single one of them, including Hector and Tim, not once have I seen anyone lose that momentum and energy in the four months I’ve been coming. You will always walk in to smiling faces, and the instructors are ready, pumped, engaged, and excited to be teaching you.
I encourage anyone interested in ballroom to take lessons with this studio. You would be lucky to have any one of these people in your dance journey corner.
P.S. All of them have such a good sense of humor, but Ellie, well if you want an especially good laugh she is unmatched. Sorry Tim and Hector ♥️

We absolutely LOVE this place! My husband and I started taking wedding dance lessons here in Sept 2024, and we had so much fun that we decided to make it a weekly activity. Tim and Magui are the best instructors, & they make every lesson super fun. My husband & I had very little dance experience prior to this, & we have had such a fun time challenging our minds & bodies. Everyone at Fred Astaire Cypress is so kind & encouraging, & we feel so blessed to be a part of this community!

No matter the style one chooses or the level, the attention is there. There is no judgement, only positive attitude! All ages, different backgrounds, various shapes- one common denominator: dance and joy!
I guess that’s contagious, not just the staff but students are also welcoming to this wonderful dance family.
Whether a private or group lesson or a dance party, there’s always something to look forward to!

Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Cypress, TX is simply the best. They are five stars -- all the way! First of all, from the minute you walk in, you feel like family. Everyone is so fun, warm, and welcoming. The level of instruction is superb! Many of the instructors are national champion ballroom dancers so you're learning from the best. Plus, it's the most fun you will ever have! To say Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Cypress, TX has changed my life would be an understatement. It has. Better health, an incredible social life, a creative outlet -- Fred Astaire provided all of that for me. You should definitely check them out.
