Owner and director of Fred Astaire Dutchess since 2002, Alex has been a driving force behind the studio’s success and welcoming culture for more than two decades.
Since joining Fred Astaire in 1996, he has helped create a community where students of all levels can feel inspired, supported, and excited to dance.
Alex’s favorite styles — Argentine Tango, Cha-Cha, and West Coast Swing — are rooted in musicality, expression, and movement. He believes these dances offer one of the best opportunities to turn music into something truly personal on the dance floor.
Known for his humor, leadership, and passion for the studio family he has built, Alex continues to lead with energy and heart. His staff affectionately considers him the “fearless leader,” and his love for dance and community remains at the center of everything the studio represents.
