Melissa and John Jakiun – Co-owners and students
As a young girl, Melissa grew up with a love for movement and music as her dad is a professional musician. She has taken lessons in tap and jazz for 13 years. Melissa joined the Ballroom Dancing Club at Rutgers University and caught the ballroom bug! Soon Melissa took ballroom dance classes in her community in NJ. She then moved to Maryland and has been dancing socially and competitively for seven years here. She is extremely excited to join the Fred Astaire dancing family now!
John started dancing later in life. He bought a gift certificate for himself and Melissa to have ballroom dancing lessons together. Soon he found that he also caught the ballroom bug and has been dancing ever since! He has been dancing socially and competitively for seven years. John is very happy to be a part of this amazing team!
