The energy in this studio is absolutely contagious. You walk through the doors and somehow the stress of the day disappears. The music, the laughter, the dancing, and most of all, the incredible people make this place feel like so much more than a dance studio.
The Marlboro dance crew is truly something special. They are talented, encouraging, patient, passionate, and know exactly how to bring out the confidence in you—even when you didn’t know it was there. Whether you’re having the best day or desperately need to shake off a rough one, you leave feeling lighter, happier, and probably already looking forward to your next lesson.
It’s exercise, therapy, friendship, laughter, confidence, and pure joy all rolled into one.

Here, I found the atmosphere, the instructors, and the technique I had been looking for. Dancing with them makes me feel great—it's relaxing and uplifting. I'm very grateful to the studio owners and coaches, who are always kind, supportive, and willing to help no matter how many times it takes to learn the steps. We would like to extend our deep gratitude to Jakarta, Cristian, Devyn & the entire FADSMarlboro family for opening their arms to absolute novice’s like us and making us feel like accepted from the moment we walked in. From Jahaira & Cristian’s initial wedding dance demo to Devyn’s constant energy and hype this place is exactly where you want to learn dance. Jahaira was great at teaching us, even when things were frustrating for me to grasp. She had a lot of patience and persistence. We went from not knowing any kind of technical dance to now knowing a good bit of Waltz, Rumba and hustle. Then we moved onto our wedding choreography, where Jahaira, my wife and I created a routine to our selected wedding song. We went through all of the steps to a point where we could recite it without music. They also have their ways of simulating a performance in front of a crowd, something that is imo overlooked but not by FADS Marlboro. We had double weekly lessons leading up to our wedding week. We rehearsed in our hotel room leading up to our wedding as Jahaira recommended. We executed our routine in front of 68 of our closest friends and family and we got the exact reaction we wanted. All of this thanks to FADS Marlboro !! Thank you Jahaira and the rest of the team for a great learning experience and a beautiful touch to our wedding day !!
We had an absolute blast at FAD with Jahaira. Not only did she teach us how to dance multiple different styles, she choreographed the most beautiful first dance for our wedding and we are so grateful!🤍🥰 highly recommend checking them out even if it’s just for a fun date night!
I’m so happy I found my way back to dance! It’s been so special returning to something I loved so much when I was younger. I have been going to Fred Astaire for four years, and it has become such a great way to decompress, have fun, and do something just for myself. The staff is absolutely incredible—so welcoming, encouraging, and kind. I genuinely look forward to coming to my lesson every week and couldn’t recommend this studio more!

With the instructors’ guidance, I now feel more confident, have gained more poise and will be participating in the Garden State Dance Festival later this month. I would never have had the courage to go out of my comfort zone and perform. The instructors at Fred Astaire are patient, positive, and always give constructive feedback in a compassionate way. I truly appreciate them and I highly recommend this dance studio to anyone who is interested in learning the beautiful art of Ballroom dancing.💃

All the instructors (shout-out to Cristian) are super friendly, uber talented and very knowledgeable about dance. I can not wait to continue taking my classes. I look forward to them every week 🙂

I have had such an amazing experience at Fred Astaire Marlboro! They have taken me on and grown me as a person and in dance in such a short time. They have the best team, environment, and expertise in all they do. They have supported me, my goals, and competitive background and taught me more than I ever expected to when I started. If your looking to express yourself in new ways with a supportive team, they are absolutely the best place to try.
Dance instructor was very friendly and accommodating. Really one does not need to know how to dance , just the motivation to learn it, the DI will walk you through every step as how you can learn the steps and introduces you to all kinds of dances you want to know, but with different stages of dances, one starts from beginners class, just inquire , it’s fun and entertaining. Love it myself, hope to come back after my eye surgery.

The instructors and staff of FEDS Marlboro truly make you feel part of the dance family! Instructors are top notch - friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Group lessons and monthly themed parties are a fun way to practice what you’ve learned.

Without sounding sappy, this studio is a life revelation for me. I walked into a place so full of love that it’s contagious. I was very tentative at first, passing by on my way to the gym that subsequently moved north. I still remember sneaking in thinking, “no way!!”

Fred Astaire studio in Marlboro NJ is a great dancing studio! Our instructor Alberto is attentive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with! We started off as somewhat reluctant dancers but now look forward to each of our dance lessons. A big part of this is how comfortable we feel in this studio and how friendly and professional all the staff members are. I definitely recommend this studio and our instructor Alberto!
Could you ever imagine expressing your best creative self? Well, I have found that experience at Marlboro Fred Astaire! They have the finest team of dance instructors, creating an atmosphere of fun while introducing dance styles of your choice. My husband and I love it! Love this studio! My partner and I came in for wedding dance lessons. It has been such a pleasure to come here. Our instructor was Alberto, but ALL of the instructors and staff are so kind here. I recommend this place to everyone for not only wedding dance lessons, but just for learning to dance in general!

My now wife (during our lessons fiancée) and I took 10 lessons with Alberto to put together the perfect first dance, and we got exactly that. Everyone at this location is friendly, inviting, and professional and made our experience one we told all of our friends and family about. Alberto was an incredible teacher who truly cares about his students, and wants to make sure we understand all the steps he is demonstrating, no matter what experience level you are. I could not reccomend taking lessons more. This is the place to do it!!

Last February my husband surprised me with Dance lessons for my birthday. He knew I would love that, and to his surprise, he liked it too! We now go every week. Alberto is awesome and has taught us the Merengue, Bachata, and the Rumba. If we can do it anybody can! The entire crew at Fred Astaire has been very welcoming, patient, and makes every lesson a fun night out!
The studio is transformative. You walk through the door and the day is behind you. You get to work with award winning instructors who teach not only the steps but the passion and emotion of dance. As a married couple of 35 years the past year with them has done more to strengthen our marriage than anything else ( except our church and faith). There is a genuine sense of caring by the instructors which is also seen in all of the students as well. Went there to take a few dance lessons and doors were opened that we never knew existed. Exceedingly beyond our expectations! Our only way to repay Jose and everyone there is to keep dancing. What a great dance family! It is also great to see that our studio has ranked in the top of the state when we go to competitions. Exercise your mind, body, soul and marriage and make all of them stronger at Fred Astaire Marlboro.

I can’t express enough how much this dance studio has transformed me!!! As a Brazilian who was once stiff and had no rhythm, I was skeptical about learning to dance. But thanks to my incredible instructor, JoJo, everything changed. JoJo has an amazing way of loosening you up and making you feel comfortable, no matter your skill level. With JoJo’s guidance, I was able to progress and learn much more than the basics of Bachata, Salsa, and Tango.. dances I never thought I’d be able to pull off!

Christian and Devin are the absolute best! We have had the privilege of being their students a few years ago - and we enjoyed every moment of it! They were both so supportive and encouraging- in addition to being phenomenal dancers themselves. Although we do not take lessons anymore( we retired to North Carolina)- we use the skills they taught us frequently. We are so blessed to have been taught the basics by the best!!!

From the first day we came in, the staff made us feel comfortable and guided us every step of the way. The instructors are professional, kind, encouraging, and great teachers. I was gifted a dance lesson with Jose for my birthday and I cannot speak highly enough of the studio and Jose. It was an incredibly fun experience and super high energy activity for my birthday. I learned the beginning of 4 dances and Jose picked music that worked for the dances that I loved. He asked my opinions about music and was so welcoming and made it not at all intimidating. Hoping to go back for more lessons that I can do on occasion and even just for a good time! Would love to do a group lesson and bring some friends because I think with Jose it would be hilarious and the best time spent with friends.

Lessons at Fred Astaire Marlboro with my fiancé for our wedding first dance has truly been one of the greatest experiences of our engagement! I can’t believe there was a time I was on the fence to take dance lessons- I thought we were going to just “wing” our dance. It is absolutely worth it to take lessons here!!! We had the honor of having JoJo as our instructor- she is such an amazing and fun teacher! My fiancé and I have no dance background at all- she was able to quickly help us understand each new technique. Her personality and professionalism are unmatched. She is the best of the best! They always say “welcome to the Fred Astaire dance family” - they truly mean that. We were always greeted by everyone in there, they’d cheer us on, made us feel so comfortable and welcome.

We joined Fred Astaire to take lessons for our first dance at our wedding and it has been amazing! Rachel has made each lesson so much fun for us. We have learned a variety of dances and she progresses us each week in order to reach our goal of making our dance beautiful! This is such a comfortable environment and fun atmosphere. I woke up one day and said "Honey, I want to take dance lessons for our first wedding dance". Like always, he responded "sure honey". I was touched by the very first phone call to FADS Marlboro. Felicia was gracious and inviting. She told me no worries, that we could bring our 4 year old along whenever we needed. We went in for the trial. After meeting with the director Devyn and instructor Rachel, I couldn't wait to sign up. I had an overwhelming feeling that this was the place for me. Well, we took our lessons. Felicia invited our 4 year old Oliver to sit with her behind her desk. And Cristian, would sit on the floor and play cars with him 🙂 Everyone in that studio was always caring and inviting. The team has so much character. The dancing was great. We learned so much and it was so so so much fun. It was the best decision we made. Our first dance was magical. We never thought we would ever do something like that. But let me get to the real heart of everything.... Rachel 🙂 If I could adopt you Rachel, I would. You have my heart! You are an amazing teacher and an even more amazing person. Your dancing skills are great. Your teaching skills are phenomenal as well. We looked forward to each and every lesson with you and we had so much fun and so many laughs. You made it so easy. I have endless praise for FADS, the studio’s team, and my instructor Alberto. Upon entry, everyone at the studio is quick to make you feel at home. Alberto develops a dance curriculum that steadily builds with every lesson, while also leaving ample room to have fun! The energy in the studio is unmatched, so it’s very easy to make genuine friendships while honing your dance skills. I highly recommend Fred Astaire Marlboro!
This is the place if you want to learn to dance and have fun! About six weeks before our daughter’s wedding in May 2024 me and my wife went here to learn to dance. Our instructor JoJo could not have been more patient in going over different steps and dances and even taught me a routine to “present” my daughter to finish our daddy daughter dance. Taking the dance lessons really gave us extra confidence and made our daughter’s wedding even more special! We had so much fun doing this that we have continued to take lessons and attend their special open house dance parties where you get to dance with the other students and the other instructors. If you really want to dance competitively, you can attend regional and national dance competitions- they can help you achieve whatever goal you have. We find ourselves laughing hysterically (often at ourselves) and find it great exercise and social fun. Felicia runs the front desk and is super helpful scheduling and finding you the right dance shoes- She is so on top of things, I thought she was the owner of the franchise. We highly recommend this studio - whatever your goals are - serious dancing or just to improve your social dancing or just to have fun and socialize with new people- this is a really special place!
My 7 year daughter Catalina has been learning to dance at Fred Astaire for about 8 months now. She has the most amazing dance instructor, Jojo! . But instead, the instruction, the extreme patience and encouragement from our instructor, Jojo, we’ve been learning so much and have competed in several events and making progress.

Fred Astaire Dance Studio Marlboro is the best place for Ballroom Dancing lessons! The dance instructors are truly professional and very knowledgeable. They will bring out the best in you. A big shout out to my instructor, Jose and alternate instructor, Jhodar, for helping me become a better dancer. Group classes are fun with Alberto. The owners, Devyn and Cristian, are supportive and thoughtful with their students. Felicia, the front desk lady, always welcomes everyone with a smile. Dancing at Fred Astaire Marlboro has been such a great experience for me. I've met new friends who share the same passion with me in dancing. My wife and I we in a pinch to complete our first dance for our special day. With only a few hours Alberto and Felicia were able to get us ready. They were very accommodating and were able to squeeze us in for two sessions all on the same night. We worked till very late, but they made sure we didn’t leave until we were comfortable and ready to take on the dance floor. Will def be back for more lessons.
Jo Jo was wonderful in instructing my wife and me on the several dance themes we learned. She took the time to make sure we were doing the correct steps and I would not hesitate to have her teach me in the future.
Fred Astaire Marlboro is my happy place! My fiancé and I dance with our instructor JoJo once a week. Ballroom is an amazing activity to stay connected with your partner and it's also a great form of exercise! Plenty of other students don't have partners, so they work 1:1 with one of the amazing instructors. I truly can't say enough about this place - the entire staff is so friendly and welcoming to dancers of ALL levels and they are so great at fostering a community - the Fred Astaire Dance "family." As a widower of 2 years, I needed to start My New Life. As part of that effort, I signed up for dance lessons at Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Marlboro. I can't begin to express my gratitude to everyone who works there. They are all welcoming and patient and caring people. It truly is a family atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank my dance instructor Jhodar (Jojo). I can honestly say that she is personally responsible for putting a smile on my face every week. And trust me when I tell you, after what I've been through these last two years, that is no easy task. I highly recommend signing up for classes. You absolutely will not regret it.

My husband and I started dance lessons in May for our daughters wedding in April. Our instructor Jojo is the absolute best dance instructor to have. She is patient and knowledgeable with her craft. We have learned 5 dances. We are comfortable and can dance each dance with confidence. They are a very friendly and accepting staff. This is the place to learn how to dance.
I couldn’t be happier with this studio! All of the instructors are amazing and make learning to dance a blast! They have group lessons once a week and have a big party once a month. I’ve met so many amazing people in this studio and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to learn how to dance in a fun atmosphere!
This is the best studio in NJ because they have the best instructors . They are all very dedicated and want to see you grow . You can’t even pick a favorite instructor because they are all amazing . Backstory: Since I was a little girl, my mom would dance with me all around the house. We had no idea what we were doing but we twirled and spun and danced to Selena and Donna Summer every night. With my wedding coming up (11-11-22), we knew we wanted to do something special together, but we weren't sure how to fit it in. When my dad passed away 10 months before my wedding, my mom and I knew we had to do a big, grand mother daughter dance to some of my dad's favorite songs to honor him. JoJo went above and beyond to mix my dad's song to me as a baby with some Selena for my mom and of course, a bit of Earth, Wind, and Fire to really bring my dad's spirit to the room on the big night!
Working with JoJo was so much fun, inspiring, the perfect combo of easy and challenging, and she gave us the best mother daughter dance! She brought our old dancing days back to life and we honestly couldn't have been matched with a better instructor!

I'm so delighted I began my journey into the world of ballroom dancing with Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Marlboro. The entire experience has been one of growth, excitement, learning and enjoyment. From the moment I walked into the studio, I felt the welcoming environment of the staff. I was greeted by Felicia who helped acclimate me to the surroundings before my first lesson. I soon met my instructor, Jhodarlis Villegas, who helped me become comfortable on the dance floor and alleviate any trepidations I might have. Within minutes I was dancing! JoJo guided me through the preliminary steps of both smooth and Latin dance styles, and I found myself progressing quickly to the next level. JoJo is a supportive, patient and sharing professional who answers my questions and helps break down the dances, which helps my understanding of different dance elements and timing. The owners, Devyn and Chris, and instructors, Jose and Alberto all enhanced my experience by offering support and encouragement. The entire staff are extremely devoted to their craft, friendly and consummate professionals. I was also warmly welcomed into the studio family by other students who shared their dance experiences, which added a social element that I didn't anticipate. Honestly it means something to me to write a review for this place. I called this place as an idea for a second date and within a week called them hours before and embarrassingly admitted my date dropped me. If there’s one word I could use to describe this place and the people within its “warmth.” From JoJo, to Devyn, Jose, Felicia and Christian, they all welcome you with open arms and make you feel like you were missing a home. We have never met anyone like Jose. He is more than a dance instructor; he’s a mentor, cheerleader, and positive light. Not only did he instill confidence in every step we took, he made us laugh while doing it! The staff at the Marlboro location were extremely welcoming when I arrived for an open house event. When I first walked through the door, the front desk executive greets me with a glowing smile and a charismatic welcome. When the dancing started as a group, the instructors were very informative and provided a light atmosphere, helping me over come my nerves and shyness. The students and guests had nothing but smiles on their faces. The studio itself has a welcoming atmosphere with openness, lighting, and just breath-taking decor. After the group class, the instructors and front desk executive were talking with everyone who attended, were open and engaged with who they were talking with at that time. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I look forward to going back for more lessons!

My BF and I love our classes at FADS Marlboro!! My best friend and her husband came to this studio for their wedding dance and recommended them to us. We couldn’t be happier that we tried their private classes! We have different levels of experience with dance and we both learn so much with every class. We absolutely love our instructor JoJo! She makes every class so fun and we love her teaching style. She goes at our pace but also pushes us a little to test our skills.
