  1. Heart health.  Dance improves your heart’s ability to deliver oxygen to the body.  The more up-tempo the dance style, the better it is for your heart.
  2. Muscle tone.  Most forms of exercise contribute to improved muscle tone.  Dancing works the whole body, so keep it up, and you’ll see yourself slimming down.
  3. Strength.  Dancing contributes to strength, by forcing a dancer’s muscles to resist against their own body weight.
  4. Posture. Dancing works around the muscles around your spine, which improves posture.
  5. Weight control.  Along with a healthy eating plan, a program of dance training is a great form of exercise for reducing weight, and maintaining weight loss.
  6.  Flexibility. Many dance steps call for moves that necessitate a lot of stretching and bending, which improves overall flexibility.
  7. Balance.  Dancing requires lots of movement and good posture, which help you stabilize and gain better control of your body.
  8. Endurance. Endurance is the capability of muscles to work harder for longer stretches of time without succumbing to fatigue.  As you work on your quick steps, lifts, twists and turns, you are conditioning yourself to do these things with less fatigue.
  9. Energy. If you’re feeling sluggish and low on energy, regular dance workouts can help you feel more energetic.
  10. Agility.  Agility is the ability to be quick and graceful; the footwork, coordination, and balance developed during dance lessons is perfect for improving overall agility.
