Caitlin and Brad came to Fred Astaire Dance Studio Memphis to learn their first dance for their wedding back home in Iowa City, Iowa. They grew up a mile apart and attended the same schools starting in mid-elementary. Caitlin and Brad didn’t really know each other until high school, but became good friends Brad’s senior year (Caitlin’s junior). Friendship led to long-distance dating in college and the rest is history.
Caitlin discusses her first dance, “We danced to “Forever Like That” by Ben Rector (the acoustic version). We had both been taking lessons for a while and didn’t want anything too choreographed. Sandra helped us with a styled intro and ending, and Brad led a waltz through the rest of it, impressing our guests (especially his mom!).”

Caitlin and Brad were married in the same church as Caitlin’s parents, both sets of grandparents, and one set of great-grandparents. The couple incorporated a lot of tradition and history throughout our day in different ways, making it even more meaningful for us and our families.
