Dance Workouts at Home

We’re still staying at home, but that doesn’t mean we should be sitting still! Now more than ever, it’s important to keep your body moving for optimal wellness. At home dance lessons are a great outlet for this! Our at home dance workouts give you a fun workout while teaching you the fundamentals to dance. Here’s four reasons to give online dance workout classes a try:

Whole-body workout

Dance is fast paced, so you’ll get plenty of heart healthy cardiovascular exercise. Just a quick 30-minute dance class burns an average of 200 calories, about the same as jogging but much more fun! Dance also strengthens core muscle groups such as legs and abdomen. It improves coordination, balance, and posture.

Learn new moves

Big events and weddings will one day resume, we hope sooner rather than later! When they do, you’ll have the fundamentals down to get on the dance floor like a pro. We teach you the steps to make dancing comfortable and fun, and you’ll learn in the privacy of your own home.

Improve mood

Dance improves mood by lowering stress and reducing anxiety. Dancing causes the release of dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins, all of which play a vital role in keeping you happy and healthy. This has been a tough year for many of us, and dance is a great outlet to keep happiness flowing in the midst of uncertain times.

Build Connection

Dancing at home with your partner, roommate, or children is a great way to bond. There’s plenty of evidence to show that dancing with others helps you feel a sense of connectedness, and in a time of so much isolation, this connectedness is crucial. Here at Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Middletown, we offer both individual and partner virtual dance classes and love bringing dance workouts to the CT community.
