Val has harbored a lifelong love for dance. His journey began at the age of 6 when he immersed himself in the study of international Standard ballroom and Latin dance in his hometown of Vinnytsia, Ukraine. Surrounded by talented dancers, Val found inspiration that fueled his passion, ultimately transforming it into a career. He attained a WDO license, serving as a judge for amateur couples in significant dance championships across Europe.
A graduate in Physical Education and Sports, Val applied an Olympic-style approach to judging, evaluating competitors based on Performance, Technique, Choreography, Creativity, and Presentation. His educational journey led him to earn an Associate in Ballroom and Latin Choreography from Kyiv National University of Physical Education and Sport.
Venturing beyond his homeland, Val choreographed and performed original dance routines in various European countries, including Spain, Poland, and Bulgaria. In 2022, he joined Fred Astaire Dance Studios, undergoing an intensive curriculum to earn certifications in American Smooth and American Rhythm. Val’s expertise extends to specific dances like Argentine tango, salsa, and club dancing. He takes pleasure in teaching individuals of all ages, from children to adults, and has become a passionate wedding choreographer, dedicated to making the first dance for couples memorable and enjoyable.
Teaming up with his wife, Anastasiia, Val competes in Professional American Smooth at regional Fred Astaire Championships. Beyond the dance floor, he enjoys leisurely walks with his dogs, indulging in video games, watching movies, and exploring natural trails in Connecticut.
