Georgii Ilinykh was born in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and started dancing at the age of 5 with his twin sister. Victories at competitions made him keep on dancing and eventually chose dancing as his profession. He went to College at the Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts, he took classes in folk dancing, ballet, art nouveau, and even staged his own ballet based on “The Great Gatsby.” After university, Georgii tried bachata and about a year later he fell in love with it. After feeling “stuck,’ Georgii and his wife decided to try something new, so they packed up and moved to America! He and his wife work with us at Fred Astaire Dance Studio and live in the beautiful city that we all call home, Pensacola. They have fallen in love with this city, the people, and the food!
