Lydia Barress – Instructor | Finalist of US Championships

Bio –

Lydia began dancing at age 4 – falling in love with ballet and the experience of performing.  She also studied tap and theater arts, as well as a variety of other artistic creative ventures. At age 11 she found her true passion on the ballroom floor.   As a latecomer to the sport, she committed herself to the hard work of catching up with peers who had been dancing much longer. Soon after winning the 2022 pro am title at the Ohio Star Ball. She finished second out of 83 couples with her first partner in the youth division at the 2023 national youth championship in Provo, Utah, and continued to be a finalist in her category among competitions country wide. At 18 she moved from her home in Boston to start a new life.  In the spring of 2024 she made a move to San Francisco to begin a new partnership.   She loves teaching dance, competing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
