Mia Matthews began dancing at age 3 and continuously trained in several different styles throughout her youth. Although ballet was always her main focus, she also has several years of experience in jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical and modern. She is also now learning ballroom as a student at Fred Astaire Youngstown. Inspired by her love of dance, Mia earned her bachelor’s degree in Dance Management in May, 2022. She is currently the Front Desk Executive for Fred Astaire Youngstown and occasionally teaches dance lessons for the studio and other studios in the surrounding area. Mia looks at dance as a form of expression and a way to communicate without words. She recommends everyone give dance a try, regardless of age or experience!
