This is such an amazing studio!! It always has a fun encouraging atmosphere! The instructors are all amazing! There is always fun classes and events!!

When I first went to check out the studio after watching some event videos posted by a friend, I knew I had found a great place. It can be tough to find an activity that is everything you need it to be- exercise, artistic expression, fun and mentally challenging! Getting back into dance was the best decision I ever made, and I absolutely love the team spirit of the group! A Special shout out to all the great instructors, both new and seasoned, and a special shout out to Sergey with his seemingly endless patience enthusiasm!
**UPDATE** I am now reaching a year and half at this studio, having taken lessons, attended a few competitions and local showcases! I am currently preparing for a National Competition in ORLANDO! I am so excited to have such an amazing team of coaches, friends and the support of all! Though it is a lot of hard work, it is an amazing opportunity to be able to participate in Dancesport (dare at say at my age) for the first time, as it has done wonders for my physical and mental health. A special thank you to my main coach, Sergey Ivanov for all your guidance and encouragement and also to Andrew Ta, always bright and kind , to the ladies Evgeniya Z, and Yelisa C for your amazing choreography for the formations we have done (another 1st place, yay!) and to all who continue to make this studio what it is!

I have been with FADS for over 10 years. FADS Youngstown is more than just a place to dance. This is family. During this 10 years, this place and these instructors and students were there through incredible fun with in studio activities, competitions and beautiful showcase performances. Everyone has also been by my side during the darkest periods--losing both parents and my husband during these 10 years. There are not enough words of gratitude thank can express toward FADS Youngstown; know that I feel it and there is so much love as a result.
I love dancing at this studio! I always feel so welcomed! The instructors are all so kind and amazing at what they do and the other students are too! You'll love dancing here!
I started lessons about a month ago and I am absolutely enjoying dancing again! My teacher Sergey is amazing, he is very talented and passionate about dancing and teaching the basics of the steps and being able to flow without thinking.
Sergey takes time to answer any questions and concerns I have. Sergey takes time to listen to my input about what I want to learn and what isn't working for me and adjusts accordingly.
The studio in general is very welcoming and professional. Everyone is very invested in making sure all clients needs are met. The other classes they offer to help support your learning are fabulous......group classes, practice parties, as well as competitions is great! They also have Dance Aerobics classes that are fun!

My husband and I have been coming here for 10+years off and on, and it has been a wonderful experience for us. Its been good for our marriage to have something fun we can do together, what better way to stay close than to dance! We treat each lesson as a date night and we always have a great time. Dancing provides so many health benefits, plus it’s a great way to meet people through group classes. The studio instructors are supportive of your goals whether you want to become a professional dancer or just have fun with your partner. We’ve learned so much over the years and have loved every one of our instructors.
What an amazing place to learn how to become a ballroom dancer. The instructor are such a delight to visit. I was afraid to dance, but I am so grateful to have Sergei as my main instructor his dedication to teaching his students how to dance is a level many can’t comprehend or match. He has allowed me to feel more free to dance. If you’re thinking about dancing, do it! You won’t regret it and the people who attend are nothing but fun loving people. Also tell them that Vina recommended you for your first free class! 😊
Came to Fred Astaire to learn our wedding dance and had such a fun experience that we signed up for the social foundation package. There is a warm and welcoming environment and the whole staff is nice and talented. They have lots of fun events and do a good job with decorations, etc.

FADS - Youngstown is one of my favorite places to be!! EVERYONE is so nice!! I have the best time when I am there!!
This is a great opportunity to improve your health and wellness in many ways and to learn from true professionals. It's not just for life-long dancers. Some that go have no background experience and just want the unique challenge. They will work with you to customize your plans and goals. The Youngstown team of instructors have award winning talent which is apparent when attending the lessons and performances. I believe it's a great way to invest in yourself and to overcome personal weaknesses.
My husband and I decided that we wanted to take dance lessons to improve our skills and bond. What we didn’t realize is how quickly we would come to enjoy the experience, our instructor, and what we learn. Our instructor Sergei cares about how we feel about dance and wants to see us succeed. Sergei is a fantastic teacher and we really retain all the information that is given to us and the steps. He allows us to ease into each style of dance and gives great explanation. So far the experience has changed our lives and we truly love what it does for us. We look forward to our lessons every other week. The only regret that I have is that I didn’t do this sooner.

The teachers are patient and know their stuff. I mean if it's a couple learning to dance, the teachers can. doboth the male and female steps.

I went to Fred Astaire Youngstown for a free introductory lesson eight years ago, and I never left! I was so impressed with the professionalism, dedication and true love of dance that all of the instructors and staff displayed. It was inspiring and contagious, and soon I learned that not only could I learn to dance, but that, as a bonus, I had gained an extended family. The studio not only teaches dance, but they also conduct weekly group classes and practice dance parties every week. As an added bonus, we have had picnics, gone on cruises to Pittsburgh and the Bahamas, and we are even having a movie night.
Over the years, I have had several dance partners, but Dustin Jones, owner of the studio, has been my rock. He has such a positive attitude all the time, is encouraging and an overall fantastic teacher, mentor and friend. If you have ever wanted to step outside your comfort zone, give ballroom dance a try. I promise, you will wonder what took you so long.

The three years that I have been attending this studio has greatly enhanced my life. The staff members are courteous, welcoming, joyful, friendly and patient. With no prior experience, I continue to grow, learn, build confidence and make many new friends. It’s a ton of fun and a great workout that you don’t even realize you are doing! I highly recommend checking it out!

Introductory lesson was a lot of fun
Taking that first step into the studio was the beginning of a new passion. From the smiles and greetings of the staff, I became comfortable with stepping out of a comfort zone! Fred Astaire Youngstown is truly a wonderful establishment. Dustin, Hallie, Rob, and Deb are all outstanding and the studio is so much fun to be at. Whether it be a competition, a group class, or even a private lesson they will help you feel comfortable and confident in your dance ability. The best instructors around. Truly a passion I never had, but did discover thanks to Youngstown Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
My husband and I have taken lessons at this Fred Astaire Studio for quite a long time (15 1/2 yrs). There isn't a better way to get "moving" than dancing and at this studio. The instructors are the best around. I would highly recommend anyone, who wants to try dancing to come to this studio. I promise, you won't be disappointed.
I've never used the services Fred Astaire offers however my wife & daughter along with a few of their friends have taken dance lessons here, I've heard them talking about how much they enjoyed their lessons, also my wife's new dancing skills are evident when we have the opportunity to go out to a special function such as a friends wedding. My wife now thoroughly enjoys dancing and she is also very talented in her moves. My wife and daughter love their dance lessons and while I'm sure their busy lives doesn't afford them the opportunity to go as often as they would like, but when they are able to go they both tell me that they have the time of their lives. Their prices are reasonable and also have a variety of times that they offer lessons.
The teachers are amazing and the group classes are really fun! The private lessons gave me the foundation and confidence to be able to dance with and around others. Highly recommend!

I have always wanted to learn ballroom dancing, but never had the time. A friend of mine invited me to one of the champagne guest parties and I have been at it ever since! Truly one of the best gems in Youngstown with amazing instructors and staff. Truly a lot of fun. Come on out and dance the night away!!!
This studio is professional, courteous, creative, and best of all, tons of fun. It has been a fantastic experience learning a skill that is great for parties, weddings or just a romantic night out. The staff is very friendly and remarkably talented. They have helped to hone my skills with patience and determination. The lessons, group classes, events and parties are tons of fun. It has literally become a home away from home where I have made many friends who feel like family. I highly recommend giving it a whirl!
I started taking Ballroom Dancing lessons this summer and I am having the time of my life! I’m getting to know lots of fun-loving folks who also just love to dance. We encourage and support each other’s efforts with smiles, applause and cheers. It’s a joy to be part of such a positive environment. Kudos to the talented, caring and friendly staff. It has become my “Happy Place.”
Ok, It may seem a little bias with my rating of 5 stars since I work here however the rating is for the students whom I adore.
Our first class was a surprise for my birthday. Since then we've been working on Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Tango, Cha Cha and Rhumba. We wanted to be able to have an elegant dance at our wedding, but the friendly atmosphere, excellent teachers and overall enjoyment has kept us coming back for more! It's such a great way to spend time with each other and learn a new skill. We plan on continuing with our lessons even after the wedding!
