Maria is originally from Moscow, Russia. She immigrated to United States to pursue degree in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences. After graduating from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s, working in medical field as well as real estate and hotel management fields, Maria decided to fulfill her lifelong dream and take that first dance lesson, after which she never looked back. She quickly progressed, found a professional dance partner, and began competing all over the country. That’s when she knew this was what she was truly meant to do.
Maria began teaching dance at a local studio in Sarasota while continuing to compete and staying involved in real estate. Now, she’s thrilled to be joining the team at Fred Astaire Fort Myers and to keep growing as both a dancer and an instructor.
She believes it’s never too late to start dancing, and her goal is to help people feel confident, strong, and happy on the dance floor. With her background in science and medicine, Maria loves showing how dance can be a powerful tool for both physical and mental well-being.
Aside from dancing, Maria is a proud mom to her daughter, Aria, and their sweet dog, Princess.
