Aiyana Sanchez – Studio Dance Director

Aiyana Sanchez is from Solon, IA, and started dancing at the age of five years old. She has experience in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, and other styles of dance.

She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BFA in Dance Performance in 2018. She has danced summer intensives with the Gus Giordano Dance School in Chicago, and the Metropolitan Dance Company in Houston.

Aiyana has danced and performed in the Chicagoland area and nationally with KYB Dressage, Meraki dance company, and The Sigman Brothers musical theater. She was a part of the winning piece of the American College Dance Association in 2018, “Enuf”, and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as a part of the National College Dance Festival.

Aiyana joined Fred Astaire Dance Studio in the summer of 2019. She competes professionally in smooth, rhythm and showdance divisions; She is a national showdance vice champion, she received regional Top Female Instructor awards, and is a regional Open Smooth champion. Her students often receive podium placements at competitions and events. Aiyana was honored to become Dance Director for Lake Houston in 2023, and was awarded as the Bronze winning Dance Director in the region of Texas. She recently was accepted to the prestigious Fred Astaire Texas Regional Dance Council. Aiyana is excited to continue helping her team of students and professionals learn and grow in the beautiful art of dance.
