Arthur’s dance journey is quite impressive. He began his dance adventure in college at Christopher Newport University in 2013, where he focused on musical theater. During his time there, he took every dance-related class available and even graduated with a degree in musical theater and a minor in dance, showcasing his dedication to the art.
After college, Arthur relocated from Virginia to Wisconsin in 2018. His success on the collegiate dance floor paved the way for his entry into the Fred Astaire dance family shortly after graduating. Within the world of dance, Arthur is a versatile teacher, instructing various styles such as International, American, Para-Dancing, night club, and country western styles. His specialty lies in teaching individuals who want to incorporate dance into their lives, especially for their weddings and date nights. His guidance has helped students excel on the competition stage, both locally and nationally, instilling confidence in them and their newfound hobby.
Arthur’s achievements as a teacher include being recognized as a top country western teacher and qualifying for a regional Freddy award.
In the realm of professional dancing he has graced the podium in regional competitions in the Closed Ballroom, American Open Smooth, and Open Country Western categories. Additionally, he has been a finalist in the Closed Smooth and Rhythm categories and claimed the championship in Open Hustle, Pre-Champ, Mixed Pre-champ, and Show dance divisions. His independent circuit performances have seen him on the podium in Rising Star Smooth and Showdance and as a finalist in Closed, and Open Smooth categories.
At Fred Astaire Inter-regionals, Arthur has consistently impressed by being a finalist in the closed smooth and rhythm and open smooth categories, while also securing championship titles in the Pre-Champ, Mixed Pre-champ, and Show Dance divisions. On a national level within the Fred Astaire organization, he has reached the finals in Closed Rhythm and Show dance events.
In addition to his impressive dance career, Arthur has given back to the dance community by serving as a judge for the collegiate circuit, allowing him to connect with and guide the next generation of dancers.
