National Ballroom Dance Week (NBDW) will be celebrated Sept. 21-30. This is a featured event of USA Dance that is intended to spread the good word about the engaging world of social dancing! 
This, of course, is near and dear to our hearts at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Milwaukee and we are proud to be taking part. Through a series of special discounts, classes, parties and other activities, NBDW provides an opportunity to make the public more aware of the physical, mental and social benefits of ballroom dancing. In other words, we want more people to dance and we will do whatever we must to get them on their feet!
So count us in! We’re taking part in a fun week that benefits you, the students, and brings your friends, family and co-workers into the world of dance that you enjoy so much. We can certainly use your help in getting the word out!
We will be hosting our activities from Monday, September 24th to Thursday, September 27th. Please note that all of these activities and events are open to the public.
We will be offering $25 Lessons – 2 per person – in honor of this week. We would like to donate all proceeds to the MACC Fund – Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc. Please help bring some new dancers to the studio to take advantage of this terrific deal that also benefits a wonderful cause.
We will also be hosting complimentary group classes Monday, September 24th through Thursday, September 27th at 6:40 p.m. at our studio. These classes will focus on the fun and sexy Latin dances we teach such as Salsa, Tango, and Bachata!
Throughout those 4 days, we will also be giving out raffle tickets for “check in’s” on Facebook, posting about National Ballroom Dance Week and tagging us, the charity or both, and using our hashtag #MACCDanceDays.
Since this is such a special week, we really wanted to sweeten the pot, so the prizes for the raffle drawing include: One Coaching = $295 value, Lesson Package of 3 Lessons & 2 Social Dance Parties $379 value, 1 Dinner Ticket for Oktoberfest, and the MACC Fund will also have a few fun items to give away/raffle off as well!
The winners of the raffle will be announced on Thursday evening at our regularly scheduled Social Dance Party which will take place from 7:30pm to 9pm at our Wisconsin studio location. The cost to attend the party is our standard $35 fee.
Ballroom dancing continues to grow and change. It encompasses so many forms of dance, from the classic waltz to the fast-paced Latin styles such as salsa. It is a physically, mentally and emotionally healthy activity that increases social interaction and provides a creative outlet. The skills and techniques learned in ballroom dance lessons last a lifetime.
