A Couples Dance Studio Run by Dance Partners
Viktor started dancing at eight and trained at studios across Ukraine. Yuliya started at 13 at the Mara Dance Sport Club in Minsk, Belarus. As a pair, they’ve won regional, national and international championships and performed on Silversea cruise ships, at the Ice World Festival in Harbin, China, and at the Venetian in Macao.
They came to the United States in 2012, taught in New York and Michigan, and have spent 10 years as instructors and coaches with Fred Astaire Dance Studios. So your lessons come from people who know what it’s like to learn as two.

Dance Lessons for Couples in Three Formats
Private Couples Dance Lessons
- Private couples dance lessons are the two of you with one instructor. You work on your lead and follow, your timing and the figures you want, at your pace. It’s also the easiest place to sort out the small things, like who steps where on a turn.
Group Classes Where You Can Stay Paired
- In most group classes, partners rotate. Here, couples can choose to stay together, which makes our couples dance classes the right fit if you’d rather not switch. You still get a room full of other dancers to learn from.
Practice Parties
Practice parties are relaxed social nights where you try your new steps to real music, outside the structure of a lesson. They’re also where you’ll meet other couples who started the same way you did.
Date Night Dance Lessons Instead of Another Dinner Out
Date night dance lessons turn a regular evening into a shared project. You’ll learn something new together, laugh at the steps that go wrong and leave with a move you can use at the next wedding. It’s also time together when neither of you is checking a phone.
Couples Ballroom Dance Lessons, Latin and Swing
Couples ballroom dance lessons cover the waltz and foxtrot, the classics you’ll want at any formal event. From there, you can branch into Latin dances like the rumba and cha cha, East and West Coast swing, and the Country Western two-step.
As a rough guide, swing works at parties and the rumba suits slow songs. If salsa is the one you both want, there are dedicated salsa classes.

Planning a Wedding?
Engaged couples can start with ballroom dancing classes for couples, then work on their first dance, the parents’ dances and a group routine for the wedding party. Our wedding dance lessons cover all of it.
Adult Couples Dance Lessons for Two Beginners
Adult couples dance lessons don’t require any experience from either of you. Your first lesson together is a private one, and the introductory offer is $35 per person, with a consultation and a look around the studio included.
Neither of you has to be the “good dancer” in the relationship, since you’ll both start at the same place. You don’t even have to begin together: one partner can start first, and the other can join later.
What Couples Say About Learning Together
What I love most is that this studio feels like more than just dance lessons—it feels like a community. There is great energy, lots of encouragement, and so many opportunities to learn, improve, and enjoy dancing.

Majority of our lessons were with Yuliya or Jose. They were both really good. They choreographed a dance for us so quickly, based on our skill level and our music choice. We started our lessons pretty early on (April time-frame for a November wedding). So, we completed our 10 private dance lessons well ahead of our wedding. We enjoyed it so much, that we purchased an additional 10 private dance lessons to get us in tip-top shape for our wedding.

Tanya is fantastic! She was my instructor and she just had a way about taking my nervousness away the moment she took my hand. I found out later that she does makeup and they are very reasonably priced for makeup for an event. I did a test run and everyone kept telling me how stunning it was. It was definitely Pro level work and I can't recommend the place enough! If I could do 10 Stars I would.

Couples Ask Us
What If One of Us Learns Faster?
It happens in most couples dance classes, and it’s fine. Your instructor balances the lesson so the faster learner works on detail while the other catches up. Leads and follows also learn different things, so it isn’t always a fair comparison.
Who Leads, and Can We Switch Roles?
Traditionally one partner leads and the other follows, but partner dance classes here can teach either role to either of you. Some couples learn both, which makes it easier to understand what the other person feels.
What Should We Wear to a Date Night Dance Lesson?
Wear clothes you can move in. Smooth soles are best, like leather-soled shoes or heels with a back strap, while sneakers tend to grip the floor and make turning harder. That’s the only dress code for date night dance lessons.
Can We Keep Taking Lessons After Our Wedding?
Of course. Couples who start with a first dance can carry on with couples dance lessons afterward, moving on to ballroom, Latin or swing. A first dance is often the start of a hobby rather than the end of one.
What Do Couples Learn in Their First Private Lesson?
The first of your private couples dance lessons covers the basic hold, how to lead and follow, and the basic step of one dance. The aim is for you to leave with something you can dance together that night.
