Your Dance Studio on Ellington Road
Our dance studio teaches 20 partner dances. There’s classic ballroom, like the waltz and foxtrot, and Latin and club styles, like the rumba, salsa and bachata. Swing, the hustle and the Country Western two-step are on the list too.
Every lesson follows the Fred Astaire Dance Studios curriculum, which the franchise has built on since 1947. It’s designed to help people learn regardless of age, skill or physical ability, so first-timers and seasoned competitors often share the same floor here.

How Dance Lessons in South Windsor Are Taught
Our method has three parts. Private lessons are the core: one instructor, working on what you need next.
Group classes add practice with other students at set times. Practice parties are a relaxed floor where you put it all together.
Because private lessons lead the way, these dance lessons for adults move at your speed, not the speed of a class. You can see how the three parts connect in our teaching method.
Find the Right Program
Learn a style. Our ballroom dance lessons cover the waltz, foxtrot, tango and quickstep. Latin dance classes take you through the cha cha, rumba, samba and more. If you already know your favorite, there are dedicated salsa classes and tango classes.
Dance together. Dance lessons for couples teach two people to lead, follow and move as one. Private dance lessons give you an instructor’s full attention, whether you come alone or as a pair.
Plan your wedding dance. Wedding dance lessons cover the first dance, parent dances and a routine for the whole wedding party.
Start after 50. Senior dance classes run at a comfortable pace, with plenty of social time built in.
Beginner Dance Classes for Adults
Our dance lessons for beginners start with the basics of one style, then add figures as you’re ready for them. Nobody expects you to know a single step when you walk in.
Your first visit has three parts: a short consultation about your goals, a tour of the studio and a private lesson. New students can book all three through our introductory offer for $35 per person.
The Team Behind Your Lessons
Every dance instructor here is certified in the Fred Astaire Dance Studios curriculum. The team comes from around the world, and many of them are award-winning competitors with Fine Arts degrees. You can read each person’s background on our staff page.
Owners Viktor Tkachenko and Yuliya Lukina have been professional dance partners since 2005, with regional, national and international championships behind them. They teach alongside Jose Zuquilanda, our wedding specialist, and instructors Tatiana Yakhno and Glib Pilipaka.
Our curriculum gives you a clear, gradual path where each step builds on the one before it. That means if you switch instructors along the way, you don’t go back to the start or relearn what you already know.

Life Outside the Lesson
Your dancing doesn’t stop when the lesson ends. The studio hosts guest parties, showcases and spotlights, plus special coaching sessions.
Off-site group outings and community outreach events take what you’ve learned beyond Ellington Road. They’re also where students get to know each other.
What South Windsor Dancers Say
What I love most is that this studio feels like more than just dance lessons—it feels like a community. There is great energy, lots of encouragement, and so many opportunities to learn, improve, and enjoy dancing.

Majority of our lessons were with Yuliya or Jose. They were both really good. They choreographed a dance for us so quickly, based on our skill level and our music choice. We started our lessons pretty early on (April time-frame for a November wedding). So, we completed our 10 private dance lessons well ahead of our wedding. We enjoyed it so much, that we purchased an additional 10 private dance lessons to get us in tip-top shape for our wedding.

Tanya is fantastic! She was my instructor and she just had a way about taking my nervousness away the moment she took my hand. I found out later that she does makeup and they are very reasonably priced for makeup for an event. I did a test run and everyone kept telling me how stunning it was. It was definitely Pro level work and I can't recommend the place enough! If I could do 10 Stars I would.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are There Dance Classes for Singles?
Yes. Our dance classes welcome students who come alone, and in private lessons you’re paired with a professional instructor, so you’re never left without a partner. The studio also has a page about lessons for singles.
Can I Give Dance Lessons as a Gift?
You can. Gift certificates cover new-student dance lessons for one person or a couple at the same cost, so the recipient can bring someone along. Current students can get credit toward their own program, and custom certificates are available at 860-648-4482.
Can I Learn to Dance for a Special Event?
Absolutely. You can learn to dance for a wedding, an anniversary, a gala or a cruise. Tell your instructor the date and the kind of music, and your private lessons will focus on what you’ll need that night.
How Do Group Dance Lessons Work Here?
They run at fixed times. Students usually rotate partners, which gets you used to dancing with anyone, but couples can stay paired if they prefer. Group classes work best alongside private lessons, not instead of them.
Are Your Classes Only for Adults?
Adult dance classes are our main focus, at every level. Children and teenagers learn through a separate kids and teens program.
