ISO: Dance Instructors

As we build Fred Astaire Michigan, seeking to expand to 10 studios in the next five years, the biggest thing holding us back is finding enough dedicated dance instructors.

You’d think it wouldn’t be hard to find people who want a well-paid, generous-benefits job as part of a supported, enthusiastic team, right?

But it’s more than that.

Yes, it is challenging to find talented, qualified people to hire. The bigger issue is that so many perfect candidates don’t realize just how perfect they are. And they don’t realize how lucrative, satisfying and fulfilling a career as a dance instructor could be.

We have been actively pursuing these fantastic candidates over the last year, visiting with dance teams at universities throughout the state as well as speaking to college athletes and athletic teams to educate them on the possibilities of a career teaching dance.

You don’t have to already be a dancer extraordinaire to qualify! Any dedicated athlete with a fun personality can step into shiny dance shoes. When soon-to-be college graduates realize this potential, the possibilities explode.

Who do you know who might be a perfect candidate for us? Someone young, energetic, and athletic who is looking for a creative and innovative career?

As a dance instructor, you’ll meet new people every day. You’ll stay in top shape. It’s never boring. The music is great. You won’t sit in a cubicle and count the hours until you can go home.

And, as you accompany students to competitions, you’ll travel and meet new people, expanding your world view and your possibilities.
