Brooke Johnson, originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, began her dance journey as a child with a passion for ballet and jazz. However, at the age of eight, she set her sights on becoming a dancer on So You Think You Can Dance, prompting her mom to find a local ballroom dance class. It didn’t take long for Brooke to fall in love with ballroom, and she eventually shifted her focus entirely from ballet and jazz to pursue her new passion. Her dedication and hard work paid off when she won the prestigious 2019 Top Youth Award in the state of Hawaii, marking a significant milestone in her early dance career. In 2021, Brooke made the bold decision to leave her family in Hawaii and move to Utah to further her dance education. There, she joined the Utah Valley University Ballroom Tour Team, where she quickly became an integral part of the team that won the 2022 Blackpool Formation Championships in both Latin and Ballroom. It was also on this team that Brooke met her Latin partner, Jasher, with whom she has been dancing for the past two years. Together, they have achieved great success as two-time National Amateur Latin Dancesport Championship quarter-finalists, continuing to push each other toward new heights in competitive Latin dancing. Alongside her competitive success, Brooke has discovered a deep passion for teaching. She has had the privilege of working with a wide range of students, from young children in developmental dance programs to competitive ballroom couples. Her teaching style is rooted in the same dedication and enthusiasm that has fueled her own dance journey. Brooke is thrilled to bring her experience, knowledge, and love for dance to the studio, inspiring her students to achieve their personal best, whether they are just starting their dance journey or aiming for the competitive floor.
