Born in Odessa, Texas, Karissa has loved dancing from a young age. She started dance lessons when she was two years old and never stopped. For 12 years, Karissa formally trained & competed in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, pointe, modern, and contemporary, and on her High School Dance Team, earning the title of all-around national champion. Karissa continues her dance career at Texas State University, working on her Dance Major with a Minor in Coaching. Wanting to challenge her dancing by learning a new style, ballroom dancing, she joined the 2024 Fall Training Class with Fred Astaire Dance Studios-San Antonio. Falling in love with the new styles & the mission of FADS, she decided to join the Stone Oak team officially. Karissa enjoys teaching all ages & is passionate about spreading the freedom of moving your body.
