Malik Dmour – Instructor

Malik was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where he developed a lifelong love for sports and an active lifestyle. He has been involved in a wide range of activities including soccer, basketball, tennis, and calisthenics, all of which sparked his interest in the human body, nutrition, and overall wellness. Malik studied Kinesiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and is committed to continuing his education and growth in the field of health. He is passionate about developing new skills and believes strongly in continuous self-improvement—emotionally, mentally, socially, and physically.

Malik was introduced to Fred Astaire Dance Studios through a close friend who was a dance instructor. Looking for a new challenge beyond his previous role, he decided to step into the world of ballroom dance. What began as a new adventure quickly grew into a genuine passion for both dancing and helping others unlock their potential. Malik currently teaches at the Stone Oak studio and previously trained at the Alamo Heights location. He continues working toward higher certifications to further expand his dance knowledge and teaching expertise. Malik brings enthusiasm, patience, and a true love of teaching to every lesson.

Outside of the studio, Malik enjoys staying active through basketball, soccer, pickleball, dancing, calisthenics, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys video games, board games, and quality time with family and friends. At home, he shares life with his cat, Sheik—who may be a little feisty, but is loved all the same. Malik appreciates nature, movement, and connection, and strives to bring positive energy and encouragement to everyone he works with.
