Our core values are derived from a lot of contemplation and consideration for what makes our company successful, and why we are continuing to grow after 15 years in business. Not a day goes by that we don’t love what we do. We look forward to sharing with you this incredible zest for our work as we continue to reach new heights and imagine new ways to improve the world through ballroom dance.

In this series of blogs, we’d like to introduce you to our Fred Astaire Dance Studios Michigan core values.

Our Core Value #3 is that we are Organized.

Our unique system of teaching dance is structured in an organized fashion. From the first steps to the next steps, there is a rhythm and a system for how our students progress in the art of dance, and how our teachers guide their skill-building.

Everything about this business takes organization and focus. Thus, it is one of our core values to be organized in everything we do, every day.

To succeed with a student, organization is essential. We must structure lessons in a natural progression to build muscle-memory, ease, and enjoyment. We must plan our time – from planning lessons throughout a day, to planning a single lesson or series of lessons for each student.

This is not the place to just show up, clock in, and do a job. No, it’s a place to build a thriving career, where a huge part of your daily life is connecting deeply with others and nurturing their progress in a structured and systematic way.

We have systems in place to help, but every team member must create their own organizational process to track information, organize student advancement, communicate with the front desk, and guide students on their journey with dance. You can’t get where you want to go without a plan!
