Have I told you lately how much I love living in Detroit?
Lada and I moved to the city last year, and we never cease being surprised how wonderful it is.
A few years ago, I would never have thought of opening a dance studio in the city of Detroit. I just didn’t think that it was a viable option for us.
But now, in The Comeback City, I see the growth and the potential is huge within Detroit for dancing.
There’s so much energy as Detroit is reborn. Young people living there, entrepreneurs opening businesses, real estate rebuilding and flipping.
We live in an historic neighborhood where property values continue to rise and the neighbors are friendly as can be. In our neighborhood, there are regular concerts of live music in historic homes, and they sell out every time.
People are alive and well in Detroit. It’s not only making a comeback; it’s here to stay.
Recently, national and international news media have reported that Detroit is one of the top destinations for tourists. You’ve got to go to Detroit, they say. There’s so much action and energy.
And that’s where we want to dance.
