Gerald Jamili and Cherry Clarice Parcon Jamili are recognized as one of the country’s top Philippine National Dancesport couple athletes.
They trained extensively in the Latin Dancesport discipline under the mentorship of renowned local and foreign coaches, and have received accolades from numerous Dancesport competitions in the Philippines and in the international arena.
With numerous championships and awards under their belt, Gerald and Cherry have since become one of the most celebrated partnerships in the realm of Philippine Latin Dancesport, featuring grace, elegance, speed, power, high spirits, and romantic chemistry in their dance routines and choreography.
As active members of Dancesport Council of the Philippines, Inc. (DSCPI) now Philippine Dancesport Federation Inc. (PDSF) and World Dancesport Federation (WDSF), Gerald and Cherry have represented the Philippines in various competitions such as the Asian Dancesport Championship, the Asia Pacific Dancesport Championship, the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the WDSF Open, World Cup DanceSport Competitions, Thailand’s King’s Cup, the German Open World competitions, to name a few.
They were medalists at the prestigious Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2013 and 2017, the 2017 WDSF Open Latin, the 2015 WDSF Open Latin, the 2014 WDSF Open Latin, the 2014 Asian Single Dance competitions, and the 2012 Asia Pacific DanceSport Championship.
They also bagged the Championship at the 2017 Hanoi Open Latin and were Gold Medalists at the 2014 WDSF Grand Slam Asian Closed Latin, the 2014 WDSF Open Latin, and the 2014 Asian Single Dance for Jive.
Back home, they bagged the National Championship competitions of DanceSport Council of the Philippines in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017; and were conferred Top Couple of the Year during said years. They were also conferred the 2017 Athlete of the Year Award by the Philippine Sports Commission.
Today, Gerald and Cherry have made distinguished careers in teaching and coaching aspiring Latin DanceSport athletes through their very own dance company – the Jamilis Inc. and 8 Movements DanceSport, Inc. They continue to represent the country in international competitions as a Professional Latin Dancesport couple. They recently competed and represented the country in the Blackpool Dance Festival, the World’s First and Foremost Festival of Dance, held in Blackpool, United Kingdom, ranked 35th out of 180 plus couples.
Gerald began formal training as a ballet danseur in CCP before transitioning into a Latin DanceSport competitor and eventually becoming an esteemed member athlete of the Philippine National DanceSport Team in 2007. He partnered with Cherry Clarice Parcon in 2011.
