National Ballroom Dance Week Reminds Us To Never Stop Learning

Natl Bllrm Dance Wk 7 - September always reminds us of learning and the challenges of mastering new worlds.

As children in school, we studied the basics. In college we branched out into areas that complemented reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic – philosophy, art, dance. We soaked it all in and it made us who we are today.

Learning is a lifelong process. It intensifies when the subject is one that derives from our passion. You know us – our passion is for dance and we always seek new styles to enjoy and master.

That’s one reason we happily take part in National Ballroom Dance Week (Sept. 18-27). The more awareness of the glories of ballroom dance that we can spread, the happier we can all be.

Ballroom dance, of course, encompasses all of the classics – the waltz, the foxtrot, the rumba, the cha-cha. But as dance grows and changes, so does our definition of ballroom styles. So let’s add in salsa and paso doble as well. We love them all, we teach them all, and we certainly recommend each individual have as wide a repertoire as possible.

If you are interested in taking adult ballroom dance classes, think about these options. Whichever one catches your eye or tickles your fancy, why not give it a shot?

At Fred Astaire Dance Studios, the philosophy is simple and straightforward: learning how to ballroom dance should always be fun! We work with students of all ages and abilities, and help them realize their ballroom dancing goals in a warm, friendly, and 100% non-judgmental atmosphere.

Ballroom dance instruction will give you more confidence on the dance floor, a great workout, and a much better connection with your body! Whether you take part in person or virtually, you will learn and grow and find a great outlet for your creativity while enjoying the company of others doing the same.

Remember, National Ballroom Dance Week begins Sept. 18. What a great time to commit (or re-commit) to taking part in the fun and healthy world of ballroom dance. Join the party. Come dance with us.
