BIO
Sasha Spitchka, originally from Ukraine, started to dance at the young age of seven. First studying ballet and folk dancing, she later fell in love with ballroom dancing. Soon after, she was competing as an amateur in the Standard and Latin divisions. After obtaining her Bachelors in Education, she started to teach Ballroom and Latin dancing in her native town, as well as being a dance coach, performer, and a competition organizer. After arriving to the USA, she began her career with Fred Astaire Dance Studios® – Mount Kisco (NY). During this time she also was competing as a professional in American Smooth. In 1998 together with her husband Boris she opened the Fred Astaire Dance Studios® – Albany (NY) location, where she remains as a manager more than 20 years later. Sasha has always had an interest in the technical details and the practical application of dance. She has achieved the highest certification level of a Dual Fellowship in International Standard and Latin from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), and a Triple Fellowship in American Smooth, American Rhythm, and Theatre Arts from Fred Astaire Dance Studios®.

Sasha Spitchka is part of the prestigious Fred Astaire Dance Studios International Dance Council, which oversees Dance Instructor training and certification, judges (Professional, Amateur, Pro/Am) at Regional, National & International Fred Astaire Dance Studio Dance Competition events, actively coaches our Students & Instructors in dance studio locations across our network, and continuously reviews our proprietary dance curriculum to ensure only the finest, most up-to-date programs for our Students.
