Why Choose Private Lessons?

Group classes are fun and social, but private lessons give you your instructor’s full attention, with real-time corrections.

Each lesson is planned around your goals, whether you are an individual student building confidence or one of many couples preparing for a first dance.

Our studio welcomes beginners, hobby dancers, and individuals of every experience level who enjoy dance or want to meet new people.

Booking, Pricing, and What to Expect

Dance instructor and senior couple. Private dance lessons Raleigh, NC.

Private lessons are offered in every dance style we teach and can be booked for up to 2 students, so you can bring a partner along.

Please request lessons at least a week ahead to secure the right instructor, and pay only for what you book, since pricing is pay-per-lesson rather than a long contract.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask for 24 hours notice so our instructors can work with other dancers.

Rates depend on the lesson plan you sign up for after your first two lessons discounted at $59. Your instructor will chat with you and help you decide how many lessons per week best suit your goals and budget.

Dance Styles You Can Learn

Our individual dance lessons are ideal for those seeking personalized attention. Focus on your unique goals, whether it’s honing technique, preparing for an event, or simply enjoying the process. Instructors adapt to your pace, ensuring steady progress without overwhelm.

Our Latin lessons bring the vibrant, high-energy rhythms of Salsa, Samba, and Cha Cha to life for dancers at every level.

  • Salsa is a fun, energetic way to build coordination and cardiovascular fitness in every private lesson.
  • Samba brings the lively, syncopated rhythm of Brazil to the dance floor with simple steps and rocking body motion.
  • Cha Cha pairs compact, precise footwork with its signature “one, two, cha-cha-cha” rhythm in 4/4 time.

Our ballroom lessons blend elegance and technique across the Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango.

  • Waltz showcases a graceful “rise and fall” motion in 3/4 time, from the Slow Waltz to the fast Viennese Waltz.
  • Tango blends African and European roots into a dramatic, staccato dance built on strong leading and following skills.
  • Foxtrot combines long, gliding steps with the smooth, easygoing charm of jazz and big band music.

Swing lessons cover East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and the disco-era Hustle for a fun, energetic private lesson style.

  • West Coast Swing is one of our most requested private lesson styles, pairing smooth, slotted footwork with room for personal movement and improvisation.
  • East Coast Swing is built on two triple steps and a rock step, making it an easy, high-energy dance to pick up.
  • The Hustle is a fast, spin-heavy disco dance that pairs partners close together with fluid, rhythmic motion.

Wedding dance lessons help you prepare for your spouse dance, a father-daughter dance, or a full bridal party routine with a dedicated instructor.

What to Wear

Comfortable and functional comes before fashion when practicing on the dance floor.

Most women dress in athletic clothing for lessons, though a skirt or dress works well too, especially for swing and Latin styles. Men typically wear a button-down shirt and trousers that allow full movement.

When it comes to shoes, opt for a sole that lets you turn and glide smoothly, since sneakers and other high-grip soles can catch on the floor.

If you’re getting married, bring the shoes you plan to wear that day, or at least a similar heel height and sole, so you gain real experience dancing in them before the big day.

Family, Kids, and Special Occasions

Private lessons aren’t just for adults. Children gain early exposure to dance through ballet and tap, whether they join as singles or as a family, so every class can end with a bit more confidence.

Many students prepare for a wedding with us, choreographing a wedding routine at their own pace, and a gift certificate for private dance lessons makes a memorable offer for any occasion.

Group Lessons and Community

If you would rather dance socially, our group lessons welcome all ages and individuals of every background, practicing with friends in social group classes and community events.

Our dance studio is proud to offer easy access for dancers across Raleigh, NC, and students traveling from Durham, and our team will help you understand which package fits your goals, whether you want a social outlet or serious training.
